SSC CGL 2019 PYQ — Question 91

SSC CGL - 4th June 2019 - Shift 2 • Reasoning • Q91

Which two signs should be interchanged in the following equation to make it correct?

18 + 6 - 6 ÷ 3 × 3 = 6

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. + and ÷

Understanding

18 + 6 – 6 ÷ 3 × 3 = 6 is to be true.

We need to check with the options.

From option 1, by interchanging signs + and x, we get

18 x 6 - 6  ÷ 3 + 3

= 109 - LHS

LHS is not equal to RHS.

From option 2, by interchanging signs + and ÷, we get:

18 ÷ 6 – 6 + 3 × 3

= 3 – 6 + 9

= 6 = RHS

Hence, Option 2 is correct

We dont need to check further options.
