SSC CHSL - 2nd July 2019 - Shift 1 • Reasoning • Q90

Which two signs should be interchanged in the following equation to make it correct?

24 ÷ 2 + 13 - 54 × 2 = 34

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. × and ÷

Given equation: 24 ÷ 2 + 13 - 54 × 2 = 34

From option 2 by interchanging signs × and ÷, we get

24 × 2 + 13 - (54 ÷ 2) = 34

⇒ (24 × 2) + 13 - 27 = 34

⇒ (48 + 13) - 27 = 34

⇒ 61 - 27 = 34

Hence, option 2 is correct.
