SSC CHSL - 3rd July 2019 - Shift 1 • Reasoning • Q85

Which two signs should be interchanged in the following equation to make it correct?

28 - 42 ÷ 2 + 276 × 23 = - 44

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

Correct Answer is option 3 i.e. × and ÷

Given equation: 28 - 42 ÷ 2 + 276 × 23 = - 44

From option 3, by interchanging signs × and ÷, we get

28 - 42 × 2 + (276 ÷ 23) = - 44

28 - (42 × 2) + 12 = - 44

(28 + 12) - 84 = - 44

40 - 84 = - 44

- 44 = - 44

Hence, the correct answer is × and ÷.
