Show answer & explanation
Correct answer: A
Explanation
The correct answer is Option 1 i.e. Mission Mangrove Mitra.
Key Features of the Initiative
- Dual Objective: It focuses on the restoration and regeneration of coastal mangrove ecosystems while simultaneously addressing rural unemployment.
- MGNREGS Integration: The program is uniquely integrated with the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) to provide a statutory framework for wage employment through conservation activities.
-
Environmental Impact: It aims to enhance carbon sequestration, protect coastal areas from erosion and storms, and boost marine biodiversity.
This initiative builds upon the foundations laid by the earlier MISHTI scheme (2023) but provides a more robust link to the revamped rural employment laws of 2025.
