Which of the following cell organelles are NOT present in animal cell?

The correct answear is option B i.e  Plastids.

Plastids are found in plant cells as they synthesise and manufacture pigments necessary for the process of photosynthesis.

Plastids are absent in animal cell because-

  1. Animals are mobile organisms, which means that they can move around to obtain their food.
  2. They can fulfill their nutritional requirement by preying or obtaining food from other sources.
  3. Therefore, they do not require any pigments which help in synthesising food through photosynthesis.
Ribosomes Present inside the cytoplasm of both Plant and Animal cell.
Lysosomes Lysosomes are present in the cells of animals, and they are responsible for breaking down waste and other cell debris. 
Mitochondria Mitochondria are present in both animal and plant cells.
