What will be the area of a triangle whose sides are 13 cm, 5 cm and 12 cm?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 4 i.e.30 cm2.

A triangle whose sides are 13 cm, 5 cm, and 12 cm.

Area of a triangle with sides a, b, c and perimeter (2s) = s(s−a)(s−b)(s−c){\sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)} }

s = (a + b + c)/2

Semi perimeter of triangle = (13 + 5 + 12)/2 = 30/2 = 15 cm

Area = 15(15−13)(15−5)(15−12){\sqrt{15(15-13)(15-5)(15-12)} }

A = 15(2)(10)(3){\sqrt{15(2)(10)(3)} }

A = 900{\sqrt{900} } = 30 cm2
