What is the value of 3cos⁡A+2sin⁡A3cos⁡A−2sin⁡A\frac{3 \cos A + 2 \sin A}{3 \cos A - 2 \sin A}, if 3cot⁡A=733 \cot A = \frac{7}{3}?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. 13.

According to the given question,

cot⁡A=79 \cot A = \frac{7}{9}

P = 9, B = 7

Using pythagoras theorem, H = 49+81\sqrt{49 + 81} = 130\sqrt{130}

Putting the values in the given expression,

3(7130)+2(9130)3(7130)−2(9130)\frac{3 ({7 \over \sqrt{130}}) + 2 ({9 \over \sqrt{130}})}{3 ({7 \over \sqrt{130}}) - 2({9 \over \sqrt{130}})}

⇒ 21130+1813021130−18130\frac{ {21 \over \sqrt{130}} + {18 \over \sqrt{130}}}{{21 \over \sqrt{130}} - {18 \over \sqrt{130}}}

⇒ 21+1821−18{21 + 18} \over {21 - 18}

⇒ 39339 \over 3 = 13

Hence the value of the given expression is 13.
