The correct answer is Option 3 i.e. 144. 

9 and 36 are the first and middle proportions respectively.

If A : B :: C : D then, (A × D) = (B × C)

Let the third proportion be x.

So, the proportion becomes 9 : 36 :: 36 : x

According to the concept -

9 × x = 36 × 36

x = 1296/9

x = 144
