Show answer & explanation
Correct answer: C
Explanation
The correct answer is option 3 i.e. Complex mother-daughter bond.
Avni Doshi’s debut novel, Burnt Sugar (published in India as Girl in White Cotton), explores the ambivalent and fractured relationship between an aging mother, Tara, and her daughter, Antara. Set in Pune, the narrative delves into themes of memory, resentment, and the burden of caregiving as Tara begins to suffer from Alzheimer's.
It challenges traditional notions of maternal bliss, portraying a raw, sharp, and often uncomfortable reality of familial ties and the psychological scars left by unconventional parenting.
