SSC CGL - 14 Sep 2025 - Shift 1 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q73

The number of students in two sections A and B having different heights is shown in the table below:

Height (in metres)   Section A   Section B
 1.55  5  4
 1.60  8  8
 1.62  10  15
 1.65  14  10
 1.68  6  9
 1.71  7  5
 1.75  7  9

What is the ratio of the total number of students in Section A whose height is less than 1.65 metres to the total number of students in Section B whose height is less than 1.65 metres?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 23 : 27

Number of students in Section A with height less than 1.65 m = 5 + 8 + 10 = 23

Number of students in Section B with height less than 1.65 m = 4 + 8 + 15 = 27

Required ratio = 23 : 27
