Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

Correct Answer is option 1 i.e. 65 : 138

Application

Sale of books in India in 2013 and 2014 = (3 + 3.5) × 100 = 650

Selling amount in India = 650 × 800 = 520000

Royalty received in India = 520000 × 10/100 = 52000

Hence,

Royalty earned by X = 52000 × 5/8 = Rs. 32500

Sale of books abroad in 2015 and 2016 = (5.5 + 6) × 100 = 1150

Selling amount in India = 1150 × 1000 = 1150000

Royalty received in India = 1150000 × 16/100 = 184000

Hence,

Royalty earned by Y = 184000 × 3/8 = Rs. 69000

Required ratio = 32500 : 69000

 = 65 : 138
