What is the rank of India in the World Press Freedom Index 2021?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 1 i.e. 142.

India's rank in the World Press Freedom Index 2021 was indeed 142nd out of 180 countries. This ranking, published annually by Reporters Without Borders (RSF), indicated a concerning situation for press freedom in the country. It highlighted issues such as violence against journalists, pressures on media independence, and restrictions on reporting, contributing to a consistently low ranking for India in recent years.
