Vipul, Ashima, and Priya invested a total of ₹21,000 at 3%, 6%, and 5% per annum, respectively, on simple interest. If at the end of the year, all three persons received an equal amount of interest, then the amount (in ₹) invested by Ashima is:

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. 5,000.

Let the sum invested by Vipul, Ashima and Priya be V, A and P respectively.

Given, V + A + P = 21000

Also, V×3×1100=A×6×1100=P×5×1100\frac{V \times 3 \times 1}{100} = \frac{A \times 6 \times 1}{100} = \frac{P \times 5 \times 1}{100}

⇒ 3V = 6A = 5P 

⇒ V : A : P = 10 : 5 : 6 

Now, sum invested by Ashima = 2100021×5\frac{21000}{21} \times 5 = 5000
