Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. 2100 km.

Two trains start at the same time from Bangalore and Chennai

The speed of the train from Bangalore = 80 km/h

The speed of the train from Chennai = 95 km/h

Distance=Speed×TimeDistance = Speed \times Time

At the point of meeting time 't', one train has travelled 180 km more than the other

The distance covered by the train from Bangalore = 80t

The distance covered by the train from Chennai = 95t

According to the question

⇒ 95t - 80t = 180

⇒ 15t = 180

⇒ t = 12 hours

Hence,

the total distance between Bangalore and Chennai = 95t + 80t = 175t = 175 × 12 = 2100 km
