Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. 3 : 4

Let two numbers be 3x and 5x

According to question,

(3x -9)/(5x - 9) = 12/23

69x - 207 = 60x - 108

9x = 99, x = 11

Numbers are 3 × 11 = 33 & 5 × 11 = 55

If is 3 added to the smaller number and 7 is subtracted from the other number the ratio will be:

33 + 3 : 55 - 7 = 36 : 48 = 3 : 4
