To which political party did EMS Namboodiripad belong at the time of his becoming the Chief Minister of Kerala?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. CPI.

EMS Namboodiripad belonged to the Communist Party of India (CPI) when he became the first Chief Minister of Kerala in 1957. He led the first democratically elected communist government in India and one of the first in the world. His government introduced significant land and educational reforms aimed at reducing social inequality. Though later the Communist Party split in 1964, forming CPI and CPI(M), EMS was initially with CPI when he took office as Chief Minister.
