Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

Correct Answer is option 1 i.e. 69

Application

Average = (Sum of numbers)/Total Numbers

Given:

Ratio of three numbers = 1/2 : 2/3 : 3/4

⇒6 : 8 : 9

Let the numbers be 6x, 8x and 9x

Since difference between the greatest and the smallest number = 27

⇒ 9x – 6x = 27

⇒ 3x = 27

⇒ x = 9

The first number = 6x = 6 × 9 = 54

The Second number = 8x = 8 × 9 = 72

The third number = 9x = 9 × 9 = 81

Sum of three numbers = 54 + 72 + 81 = 207

Hence,

Average = 207/3 = 69
