SSC CGL 2025 PYQ — Question 72

SSC CGL - 25 Sep 2025 - Shift 1 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q72

The volume of a sphere is 288π cm3. If the radius is doubled, what is the new volume?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 2304π cm3.

Sphere volume =  (4/3)πr3

(4/3)πr3 = 288π

⇒ (4/3)r3 = 288

⇒ r3 = 216

⇒ r = 6 cm

New radius = 12 cm

New volume = (4/3)π × 123 = (4/3)π × 1728 = 2304π cm3
