SSC GD 2023 PYQ — Question 59

SSC GD Constable (English) - 23 Jan 2023 - Shift 4 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q59

The volume of a right circular cylinder is 180 cm3, the area of its base is 30 cm2 and the height is 6 cm then, find the diameter of the cylinder is (in cm):

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 1 i.e. 230π2\sqrt{30\overπ}.

Base area = 30 cm2

⇒ πr2 = 30

here r = radius

The volume of a cylinder = πr2h

⇒ πr2h = 180

⇒ πr2 × 6 = 180

⇒ πr2 = 30

⇒ r2 = 30/π

⇒ r = 30π\sqrt{30\overπ}

Diameter = 2r = 230π2\sqrt{30\overπ}
