The volume of a right circular cylinder is 2425.5 cm3 and its base area is 346.5 cm2 What is the curved surface area of the cylinder (in cm2)?

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3  i.e. 462.

Area of base = πr2\pi r^2

⇒ 346.5 = (22/7) × r2

⇒ r2 = 110.25

⇒ r = 10.5 cm

Volume of sphere = πr2h\pi r^2h

⇒ 2425.5 = 346.5 × h

⇒ h = 7 cm

Curved surface area = 2πrh2\pi r h

⇒ 2 × (22/7) × 10.5 × 7 = 462 cm2
