SSC CGL 2022 PYQ — Question 22

SSC CGL Tier II - Quant - 3 Feb 2022 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q22

The volume of a right circular cone is 308 cm3 and the radius of its base is 7 cm. What is the curved surface area (in cm2) of the cone? (Take π=227\pi =\frac{22}{7})

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. 2285\sqrt{85}

Here it is given that,

The volume of a right circular cone is 308 cm3 .

1/3 × 22/7 × 7 × 7 × h = 308

h = 6

Slant height = r2+h2\sqrt{r^2 + h^2} = 72+62=85\sqrt{7^2 + 6^2} = \sqrt{85}

Curved surface area of cone = 22/7 × 7 × 85 \sqrt{85} =  2285\sqrt{85}.
