The volume of a cuboid is twice that of a cube. If the dimensions of the cuboid are (8 m x 8 m x16 m), the total surface area of the cube is:

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. 384 m².

Volume of a cuboid = 2 × Volume of a cube

The dimensions of the cuboid = (8 m x 8 m x 16 m)

The volume of a cuboid = Length × Width × Height

The volume of a cube = Side3

The total surface area of the cube = 6 × Side2

Volume of a cuboid = 2 × Volume of a cube

8 × 8 × 16 = 2 × Side3

Side3 = 512

Side = 8 m

Hence, the total surface area of the cube = 6 × Side2 = 6 × 82 = 6 × 64 = 384 m2
