Sin²θ +Cos²θ = 1

Apply these formulas and put the values.

Sin²42° +Sin²48° + Tan²60° - cosec30°

⇒Sin²42° +Sin²(90° - 42°) + (√3)²- 2

⇒Sin²42° + Cos²42° + 3 – 2

⇒ 1 + 3 – 2 = 2
