The sum of three numbers is 1331. If the numbers are in the ratio 2:3:6, calculate the difference between the largest and smallest numbers.

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

Given:

Ratio of the numbers = 2 : 3 : 6

Total sum = 1331

According to the formula:

Sum = (2 + 3 + 6) × x

2 + 3 + 6 = 11

11x = 1331

x = 1331 / 11 = 121

2x = 242

3x = 363

6x = 726

Difference = 726 − 242 = 484
