The sum of the current ages of Natasha and Krishna is 50 years. 10 years ago, Krishna was twice as old as Natasha. What is Krishna’s current age?

Application

Let the age of Natasha be 'a' and the age of Krishna be 'b'

As per the statement given in the question:

a + b = 50         .......(i) and

Ten years ago:

Age of Natasha = a - 10 years

Age of Krishna = b - 10 years

 

⇒ b – 10 = 2(a – 10)

⇒ 2a – b = 20 – 10       .........(ii)

From both the equations (i) and (ii)

⇒ a = 20

And b = 30.

Hence, Krishna’s age is 30 years.
