Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. 34400

Understanding

Application

Suppose the salary of A = x

Salary of B = 43000 – x

A spends 95% of his salary and B spends 80% of his salary;

Saving of A = 100 – 95 = 5%

Saving of B = 100 – 80 = 20%

As per the question:

x × 0.05 = (43000 – x) × 0.2

⇒ 0.05x = 8600 – 0.2x

⇒ 0.25x = 8600

⇒ x = 34400

Hence,

Salary of A = Rs. 34400
