Given that

Simple interest on the sum for 12 years is three-fifth of the sum

Let the sum = P

S.I = $\frac{P×R×T}{100}$

According to the question

S.I = $\frac{3}{5}$P

⇒ $\frac{P×R×T}{100}$ = $\frac{3}{5}$P

⇒ R = 5%

Hence, the rate of interest per annum is 5%
