The sides of a triangle are in the ratio 13:15:16\frac{1}{3}:\frac{1}{5}:\frac{1}{6}. If the perimeter is 147 cm, then the length of the smallest side is ______.

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. 35 cm.

Perimeter of triangle = Sum of all three sides

Three sides are in the ratio of  13:15:16\frac{1}{3}:\frac{1}{5}:\frac{1}{6}

Ratio = 10 : 6 : 5

Let the three sides be 10x, 6x, 5x

According to the question;

⇒ 10x + 6x + 5x = 147

⇒ 21x = 147

⇒ x = 7

Smallest side = 5x = 5 × 7 = 35 cm
