The sides of a triangle are in the ratio 17:18:19. If the perimeter of the triangle is 1944 cm, what is the length of the longest side in metres?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

Sum of ratios = 17 + 18 + 19 = 54

Value of one ratio unit = 1944 / 54 = 36 cm

Longest side = 19 × 36 = 684 cm

= 684 / 100

= 6.84 meters
