The selling price of a table is Rs. 7686. If the profit percentage is 22 percent, then what is the cost price of the table?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 4 i.e. Rs. 6300.

Let the C.P. be x

S.P. = Rs. 7686

Profit = 22%

Profit% = (S.P. - C.P.)/C.P. × 100

⇒ 22 = (7686 - x)/x × 100

⇒ 22x = (7686 - x) × 100

⇒ 22x = 768600 - 100x

⇒ 22x + 100x = 768600

⇒ 122x = 768600

⇒ x = Rs.6300
