The ratio of the two angles of a triangle is 3:5, respectively. If the third angle of the triangle is 25% more than the sum of the given two angles of the triangle, then find the largest angle of the triangle.

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

Given:

Ratio of two angles = 3 : 5

Third angle = 25% more than the sum of the first two angles

By the formula:

Sum of angles of a triangle = 180°

Let two angles = 3x and 5x

Their sum = 8x

Third angle = 25% more than 8x = 8x × 1.25 = 10x

3x + 5x + 10x = 180°

18x = 180°

x = 10°

3x = 30°

5x = 50°

10x = 100°
