SSC CGL 2025 PYQ — Question 62

SSC CGL - 14 Sep 2025 - Shift 3 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q62

The ratio of the time taken by P and Q to complete a job is 4:3. If Q can complete the job alone in 24 hours, how many hours will they take to complete the job if they work together?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 13.71 hours.

Time for P = (4/3) × 24 = 32 hours

P’s rate = 1/32 and Q’s rate = 1/24

Combined rate = 1/32 + 1/24 = 7/96

Total time taken working together = 96/7 ≈ 13.71 hours
