Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 2 i.e 52.

Let the present age of A and B be 7x and 8x

After six years,

Age of A and B becomes (7x + 6) and (8x + 6)

According to the question,

⇒ (7x + 6)/(8x + 6) = 8/9

⇒ 9(7x + 6) = 8(8x + 6)

⇒ 63x + 54 = 64x + 48

⇒ x = 6

So,

The present age of A = 7x = 7 × 6 = 42 years and,

The present age of C = 42 + 10 = 52 years
