Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. 12 years

Let age of Mahesh and Ajay be 3x and 2x

A/C to question

(3x + 8)/(2x + 8) = 11/8

(3x + 8) × 8 = 11 × (2x + 8)

24x + 64 = 22x + 88

24x - 22x = 88 - 64

2x = 24

x = 12

Age of Ajay = 12 × 2 = 24 years

Age of Mahesh son = 1/2 of age of Ajay

Age of Mahesh son = 24/2 = 12 years
