Directions: Study the given pie chart and answer the question that follows:

Distribution(degree wise) of students studying in schools A, B, C, D, and E.

Total no. of students = 9000

The ratio of the number of boys to that of girls in school C is 6 : 5 and that in school B is 7 : 11, then what is the ratio of the number of boys in school C to the number of girls in school B?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. 12 : 11

 The number of students in school C = (79.2/360) × 9000

⇒ The number of boys in school C  = (79.2/360) × 9000 × (6/11) ...........(1)

The number of students in school B = (64.8/360) × 9000

⇒ The number of girls in school B = (64.8/360) × 9000 × (11/18) ............(2)

required ratio = equation (1)/equation (2)

                        = (79.2 × 6 × 18)/(11 × 64.8 × 11)

                        = 12/11
