Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. 6000

Understanding

Application

Suppose the incomes of A and B are 3x and 5x respectively.

And

The expenditures of A and B are 4y and 7y respectively.

Given: A and B save Rs. 16,000 and Rs. 26,000 respectively

So,

(3x – 4y) = 16000

And

(5x – 7y) = 26000

Solve the equations.

⇒ x = 8000 and y = 2000

Hence,

Difference (in Rs.) between their expenditures

= 7y – 4y

= 3y = 6000
