SSC MTS 2023 PYQ — Question 2

SSC MTS - 2 May 2023 - Shift 3 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q2

The radius of a right circular cylinder is thrice of its height. If the height of the cylinder is 3.5 cm., then what is the volume of cylinder?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. 1212.75 cm3

Given that

The radius of a circular cylinder = 3 × height of cylinder

the height of the cylinder (h) = 3.5 cm

so, the radius of cylinder (r) = 3 × 3.5 = 10.5 cm

Formula used

Volume of a cylinder = πr2h cubic units

Calculation

Volume of a cylinder = (22/7) × 10.5 × 10.5 × 3.5 = 1212.75 cm3
