The radius of a hemisphere is 3.5 cm. What will be its volume?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 89.83 cm³.

The volume (V) of a hemisphere is

V = 23πr3 \frac{2}{3} \pi r^3

r is the radius of the hemisphere = 3.5 cm

⇒ V = 23π(3.5)3\frac{2}{3} \pi (3.5)^3

⇒ (3.5)3  = 3.5 ×  3.5 × 3.5 = 42.875

⇒ V = 23π×42.875\frac{2}{3} \pi \times 42.875

⇒ V = 23×3.1416×42.875≈23×134.234\frac{2}{3} \times 3.1416 \times 42.875 \approx \frac{2}{3} \times 134.234

⇒ V = 89.83 cm3
