Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. 832.

The price of petrol before the hike = Rs. 82/litre

Hike in petrol price = 5%

Total distance covered by the man every month = 3045 km

The mileage of his car is 15 km/litre

Total petrol required every month = 3045/15 = 203 litres

The petrol price hike = 82 x (5/100) = Rs. 4.1

Increase in monthly expenditure = 203 × 4.1 = Rs. 832.30 ≈ Rs. 832

The increase in the monthly expenditure is Rs.832
