Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. 920

Explanation:

LEt the number of males and females in the village be x and y respectively.

According to the given question,

Initialy, x + y = 7640....(i)
After increment, 125x100+115y100{125x \over 100} + {115y \over 100}  = 9214

⇒ 25x + 23y = 184280   ...(ii)

Now Multilying equation(i) by 25 and subtracting equation (ii) from equation (i), we get

25y - 23y = 191,000

⇒ 2y = 6720

⇒ y = 3360

Now, x = 7640 - 3360 = 4280

So, required difference = 4280 - 3360 = 920.

Hence the required answer is 920.
