Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. 1840.

Let the number of males and number of females be 100x and 100y.

100x + 100y = 15280............(1)

After increment, the number of males = 125% of 100x = 125x.

After increment, the number of females = 115% of 100y = 115y.

125x + 115y = 18428...........(2)

On solving eq (1) and (2) we get,

x = 85.6 and y = 67.2

100x - 100y = 8560 - 6720 = 1840.
