The perimeter of a square and a circle are same. If the area of the circle is 1386cm , then what will be the area of the square?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. 1089 cm2

Understanding  Application

The perimeter of a square and a circle are same

Let side of square = a

4a = 2πr (given)

 πr2 = 1386 (given)

22 × r2/7 = 1386

r2 = 63 × 7 = 441

r = 21

4a = 2πr

4a = 2 × 22 × 21/7

4a = 132 , a = 33

Area of the square = 33 × 33 =1089cm2

Perimeter of circle = 2πr

Perimeter of square = 4 × side

Area of the square = a2

Area of the circle =  πr2
