The length, breadth, and height of a cuboid are 24 cm, 18 cm, and 12 cm respectively. It is melted to make smaller cubes. If the length of the side of the cube is 6 cm, then what is the number of cubes formed?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 4 i.e. 24.

We know that,

Number of cubes formed = Volume of cuboid/Volume of cube

Volume of cuboid = length × breadth × height

⇒ 24 × 18 × 12 = 5184 cm3

Volume of cube = side3 = 63 = 216 cm3

Hence,

The number of cubes formed = 5184/216 = 24
