The length and the breadth of a rectangle are 15 cm and 12 cm respectively. If the rectangle is given one full rotation about its breadth as the axis, What is the volume (in cm3) through which the rectangle moves?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

Correct Answer is option 4 i.e. 2700π

Understanding

Application

Length = 15 cm

Breadth = 12 cm

Since the rectangle is given one full rotation about its breadth as the axis, a cylinder will form with base radius 15 cm (= length) and height 12 cm (= breadth).

Now,

R = 15cm, h = 12 cm

Volume of cylinder = πR2h

So,

Required volume = π(15)2 × 12

= 225π × 12

= 2700π
