The height of a trapezium is 68 cm, and the sum of its parallel sides is 75 cm. If the area of the trapezium is, times the area of a square, then the length of the diagonal of the square is: (Take, √2=1.41)

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

the correct answer is option 3 i.e 119.85

The height of a trapezium is 68 cm, and the sum of its parallel sides is 75 cm.

Area of a trapezium = 1/2 × sum of its parallel sides x height

= 1/2 × 75 × 68

= 75 × 34

= 2550

If the area of the trapezium is  6/17, times the area of a square.

area of the trapezium = 6/17 of the area of a square

2550 =6/17 × (length of the side of the square)2

425 = 1/17 × (length of the side of the square)²

(length of the side of the square)2= 7225

(length of the side of the square) 2= 852

length of the side of the square = 85 cm

Length of the diagonal of the square = √2 × (length of the side of the square)

= 1.41× 85

= 119.85 cm
