The height of a right circular cone is 10 cm and its base radius is 24 cm. What is the curved surface area (in cm2 ) of the cone?

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. 624π

Curved Surface Area of a cone = πrl , where l = r2+h2 \sqrt{r^2 + h^2}

l = r2+h2=242+102=576+100=676\sqrt{r^2 + h^2} = \sqrt{24^2 + 10^2} = \sqrt{576 + 100} = \sqrt{676} ​ = 26 cm

Curved Surface Area = π × 24 × 26 = 624π
