(ii) Total number of candidates who passed the examniation from five institutes = 3300

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 25.2%

Average = Sum of all observations / Number of observations

The total no. of students enrolled in P = 20% of 5500 = 1100

The total no. of students enrolled in Q = 30% of 5500 = 1650

The total no. of students passed in P = 18% of 3300 = 594

The total no. of students passed in Q = 24% of 3300 = 792

The average of students who passed in P & Q = (594 + 792)/2 = 693

The required percentage = (693/2750) × 100

⇒ 25.2%
