Study the pie chart and table and answer the question that follows.

The below table shows the ratio of girls and boys in the given five schools.

What is the ratio of the number of boys in school C to the number of girls in school E?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 3 : 4

Calculations:

Let the number of total students be 100x

Number of students in school C = 24% of 100x = 24x

Number of students in school E = 15% of 100x = 15x

Number of boys in school C = 24x × 3/8 = 9x

Number of girls in school E = 15x × 4/5 = 12x

Required ratio = 9x : 12x = 3 : 4
