The given pie chart shows the degree-wise breakdown of the expenditure of a family in a month. The total expenditure of the family is ₹43,200.

By what percentage is the expenditure on education and rent taken together more than the expenditure on food (correct to two decimal places)?

Total degrees in a circle = 360°

So, each degree represents = 4320036043200\over360 = ₹120 per degree

Expenditure on education = 60 × 120 = 7200

Expenditure on rent = 70 × 120 = 8400

Expenditure on food = 105 × 120 = 12600

Total of education and rent = 7200 + 8400 = 15600

Required percentage = (15600−12600)12600×100{(15600-12600)\over12600}\times100 = 23.81%
