The given expression is equal to: cos2A1+sinA\frac{cos^2 A}{1+sinA}

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. 1 - sin A.

Given, cos2A1+sinA\frac{cos^2 A}{1+sinA}

Multiplying numerator and denominator by (1 - sinA),

(cos2A)(1−sinA)(1+sinA)(1−sinA)\frac{(cos^2 A)(1 - sinA)}{(1+sinA)(1 - sinA)}

⇒ (cos2A)(1−sinA)1−sin2A\frac{(cos^2 A)(1 - sinA)}{1 - sin^2A}

⇒ (cos2A)(1−sinA)cos2A\frac{(cos^2 A)(1 - sinA)}{cos^2A} = 1 - sinA
